පසුවිපරම් හා ඇගයීම් ක‍්‍රියාවලිය

පාරිසරික කෘෂිකර්මාන්තය පිළිබදව නීලබැම්ම හරිත කෘෂි උද්‍යානයේ පැවති තෙදින වැඩමුළුව සම්බන්ධව අගයීම පසු විපරම් ක‍්‍රියාවලිය සහ එහි ඉදිරිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වූ කථිකාවක් ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා කාර්යාලයේ දී ජාතික කැදවුම්කරුගේ ප‍්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැත්විණි.

Steering committee of NAFSO


Steering committee members from Jaffna, Mannar, Trincomalee, Baticaloa, Ampara, puthlam, kuru eyala, gampaha, kaluthara, galle and Mathara districts  were participated to the meeting. 
Discussion conducted after watching the Vedio on discussion with former fisheries ministers on state of destructive fishing practices and present situation of the implementation of relevant law and regulations. 
Developing Trends in politics of the country and future of the fisheries movement were broadly discussed among the participants. 

Among other topics discussed, 

·         Establishment of political party to represent fisheries sector. 

·         Briefing of world women's day conducted in Negombo and Trincomalee. 

·         Achievements through Voluntary Guidelines on governance of tenure (VGGT).

And situation of projects currently running in NAFSO.  About 24 persons were participated to the meeting.

Steering committee of NAFSO



Steering committee of NAFSO met for the month of March.  Committee meets monthly to evaluate previous work of district organizations and commonly fulfilled, discuss and organize future work. 
As a routine, analysis of political situation of the ground level in the country conduct as first item of the ajenda. 
committee discussed the situation of illegal fishing practices and government response over the requests of small-scale fishing communities and civil organizations who are working for sustainable fisheries sector.  
About 15 participants were participated to the meeting.

Regional Committee in Galle



Galle district fisheries organization conducted the regional committee. About 20 persons were participated to the meeting. 
Issues related to fisheries sector, majorly destructive fishing practices and lack of political support for stopping illegal fishing methods and practices were discussed. 
Apart from that, participants were educated on women federation building process by Mr. Priyankara Costha. 
After the committee meeting a media briefing was conducted on rising of destructive fishing practices around the country again. 
Several activists who are leading the struggle against destructive fishing practices were expressed their views to the media.
